How to Remove Stickers from Game Cases!

Stickers on video game cases, whether you’re a collector or not you probably hate them! Although you could also be one of those people who keeps them on there because you love the delicious irony of showing people that you picked up some super expensive title for $3 at a flea market. Either way, this video is to show you all two methods I use to clean up my game cases and remove stickers. One of them only involves your fingers, the other involves using a few household cleaners to remove them, but either way they get the job done!

  • I use Goo Gone. It is the absolute best. Also works for video game inserts, too!

  • Goo Gone does wonders for the stickers on the actual cover art as well. Just spray on a paper towel and only dampen the sticker.

Wait 10 minutes then peel that bitch off

  • Thank you so much for this!! And I would like to give a shout out to my local GameStop for putting the
pre-owned stickers on the back of the case so doesn’t obstruct the artwork, they know what’s up!

  • If you completely just go all out and tear the thing off and it doesn’t come off just pick at it until there’s barely any and use like packaging tape I just did that and it is super strong so it removes the rest

  • The stickers on the art usually come off fine with a slow peel. And some employees were real heroes and put some backing under them so only the edges were attached

  • What I do is turn on an element on my stove and hold the game slightly above the heat. You don't need that much heat just enough to loosen up the glue, then it comes off like butter with very little rez.

  • Remove the sticker first and if you leave any residue (paper or sticky adhesive) then remove that with goo gone and a paper towel

Then with a wet paper towel and some soap (carefully) clean off the goo gone

  • Someone put goddamn ratitoullie stickers and gave the damn game to the store, and I bought the game without looking at the fucking back somehow, so now there is a half ripped off Remy sticker, a half ripped High School Musical sticker, a shit load of adhesive, and some fucked up box art.

  • With Dreamcast and PS1, remove the manual and be very careful if you don't wish to remove the back insert, take some WD-40 and lightly soak the sticker or area with remaining adhesion. Let it sit and absorb into the sticker or residue until it starts breaking down, take a paper towel and rub / scrape off the sticker / residue until it's clean and your finger can run over it without feeling any roughness. Carefully blot up the WD-40, and then use Windex or Glass Cleaner to remove the oily feeling from the WD-40, make sure the case is entirely dry and smooth to the touch, put your manual back in the case and it should look like new! If the case itself is just grimy to the touch, the Windex method will do the trick. Hope this helps you guys! (Also, I'm assuming this would work great with PS2, Xbox, and other style DVD & Blu-Ray games, but be sure to clean those cases until completely dry to avoid damaging the cover art when you place it back in the case!)
